    1. It makes people laugh and smile!!! I love that! And butterflies land on the flowers at stop lights. It’s the coolest! Funny….when I first did it and guys started staring and smiling….I thought they were looking at me and that I must be doing something right! 🤣 Then my sister and I were going somewhere one day and we realized what they were looking at. SOOOO funny! 🤣🤣🤣 Ah well. 😄

  1. This is sweet, what a magic ride!
When you mention acrylic and sealer . . . are you using ‘regular’ artist acrylic paint and artist varnish or something else? Would love to find out and transform our indigo chariot 🤗🦋

    1. How fun and Yay!!! It’s really easy! I sand my car w/fine paper. I also had to treat some spots that were rusty. A bit of the paint has started to wear off anyway…which is weird because it’s only a 2005. But I’ve seen other Toyotas; same make and model w/the same problem. Bad year I guess. 🤣 And then, yes! Originally I was just using plain old acrylic paint..regular artists paint…right out of the tube. Liquitex. And their sealer (which is expensive!) I paint in many layers anyway….so I think that’s helped longevity. Also, I put about 5 coats of sealer on. It’s been about 2 years since I painted my hood and it’s lasted through 2 serious tropical storms (Matthew and Irma) and being out in the weather constantly! On the other hand, I did the roof of my car later and it started peeling off. Revisiting/reworking it yesterday I realized it’s because although I sealed it, I didn’t connect all the paint. It needs to be all connected well….I’d painted a bunch of flowers and left space in between them. As for paint now; yesterday I went to Sherwin Williams. I’d seen a guy on a tv commercial painting his car with regular paint like that. So I went in and asked the young man working there about their strongest exterior acrylic paint. He asked what I wanted it for and after he finished laughing (in wonderful way!) and learning that I’d just been using regular artist acrylics, he recommended their ultra tough, high traffic outdoor acrylic. They were having a 30% off sale as well! I just bought quarts. I got their All Surface Enamel and Resilence Enamel. Two of the colors I chose required a different base, hence the 2 types. But I was able to get high gloss in 3 of the colors and glossy in 2. That’s cool as it will add to dimension. Came home and started painting. I LOVE it and I think it’s going to work really nicely!!! How fun that You’re going to paint Your car! Oh….please post pictures! I can’t wait to see it! I’ll be posting some of Blue once I make more progress! Cheers and Hugs!!! 🤗🤗🤗
