'reboot'/St. Simons Artist Katy Boyer | Blissbait Art

I bought this computer for a beloved family member almost 20 years ago. It got passed around and finally died in my mom’s office about 5 years ago. And now….

It’s alive!!! Mwah ha ha ha haaaaa!!! 😅 Happy Saturday, Beautiful People!

        1. OH MY GOSH!!!! IRINA!!! I💖R💖I💖N💖A!!! I could not be more embarrassed or more sorry! Ack. Good Lord. I amble in here, half asleep with coffee in hand when I wake up. I get up much earlier than my sweet man so it’s the perfect time to blog because it’s a quiet activity! But perhaps the WORST time to blog because I’m truly not all the way awake! Lord. I completely adore You and Your NAME!!! It’s such an honour to have an artist/writer as gifted as Yourself visit and to have become a friend! Please, please forgive me!!! Never again! Never again!!! 🤣🙏🏼❤️🤗🌀!!!

          1. Ah ah ah. It’s ok!!!!! I was messing with you, I don’t mind you call me another name… (I’m used too – my name in my country is a really strange one… so…)
And I get the ideia – starts with an “I” must be the same XD
Katy, REALLY, it’s ok. I was joking with you.
Cheers and a cup of coffee 😛

            1. 🤣🤣🤣 You Sweet Lady!!! How funny that Irina is a strange name there! You hear it now and again here and I do love it. I’ll tell You, My name is pretty common here these days. But I’m 56 and back when I was a child it was rare. I got called Kathy ALL THE TIME. I had to explain over and over and over. 😅 Thank You so much for Your fantastic sense of humour! It’s needed around me!!! 😄 Sending huge hugs Your way! And feel free to mess with me anytime! You may well open some silly, groovy new room in my brain that wants to come out and play!!! 🤣❤️🤗

    1. Thank You, Aimer!!! And You know, I’m not quite sure how long it took. Two coats of white paint first (it was black) and then tons and tons of colourful layers! The sides are now aqua…it’s really cool! Was in a hurry Saturday but need to photograph it better for my website, for sure! Been around my art room for months. I’m so slow. Usually have 5 – 7 things going at once, mostly so when I put paint on a pallet….if ALL gets used! 🤣 If I’m remembering correctly, I might have started in January? ❤️

        1. 🤣 It sounds more impressive than it is! Lots of mess. Poor little fellas that go neglected for weeks at a time. Me almost falling every time I try to move as my room is small and they are mostly all over the floor! It’s pretty funny!!! 🤣❤️🤗

  1. No way! 😀 That’s brilliant! The idea of recycling through art is not new, of course. People made dresses out of newspapers or metal scraps or whatever. But your idea is so cheerful. Love what you’ve done with that computer. Oh, and remember I told you about painting on glass? Well, what you did with that screen is a good start. Keep on practicing. I think you’ll be adept at glass-painting in no time. Bravo, Katy!

    1. Thank You so much, Jo!!! And because of Your suggestion that I paint on glass, 2 of the pieces I’m working on right now are….wait for it…..on glass!!! One is a round top from a broken table. I’ve built a frame for it from broken easel legs. It’s looking really cool so far!!! The second is a window I painted. It’s abstract and a bit comical….although a friend of mine loves it and didn’t think it’s funny. It makes me laugh. I’m posting it Tuesday. And I have another reclaimed window I’ll be starting a painting on next week! So….THANK YOU!!! It will be nothing like the glorious stain glass looking Romanian paintings that masterful artists did….but they are pretty….I think! 🤣 Cheers!!!

    1. Thank You, Robert!!! I love painting reclaimed items that were bound for the trash! The only thing I’ve painted that was on a bought material was a HUGE painting I did of Athena. I simply couldn’t find a piece of board that BIG that was being thrown out! It’s pretty fun to give things a fun, second life! 🤗❤️😊
