My journey of trying to shoot this piece was highly comedic!!! I didn’t do it justice, but after literally hours of failing to truly capture all sides of it in varying light (and the coolness of the frame!) I’m in the process of making a small film of it for my website. I’ll give a shout out when I post that there if anyone is interested! It hangs from a cool white chain and is really lovely! I learned a lot in the process and can’t wait to dive into my next glass!

And…CHEERS to all of You AMAZING photographers out there!!! Your art is truly a highly technical skill that You make look easy. From years of photographing my art (sometimes with success….others….NOT! 🤣) I am in complete awe of what You do!!!

While I’m at it: CHEERS, Everyone!!! I hope You All have super fantastic days!!!

  1. It’s amazing what you can do with glass and acryl, Forresting!
Your work shows a wonderful handling of color. It is definitely a beautiful and rare piece.

    1. Thank You, Suzanne!!! it truly is! The first 2 shots I set up a couple of lights behind it. When I try to photograph it in true bright sunlight the sun floods into my camera and it WAY dulls out/ruins the shot. Film coming, though!!! I hope You are well! Sending hugs Your way! 🤗❤️😊

  2. OMG! This is so beautiful. Like really, really beautiful. Katy, you’re so talented! ❤️ Everything that comes out of your hands is absolutely amazing. And you’re getting so good at painting glass. I’m very pleased that it was me the one who put the bug in your mind. 🙂

    1. Oh YAY!!!! Thank You, Jo!!! I’m so happy You like it! I should be finished with the little film soon….which shows it hanging. You are so very kind! I’m having so much fun learning/playing with glass! And we’ve 4 more windows I’ve been hanging onto for years wondering what to do with….so…Yay! I’m very pleased/grateful that You put the bug into my mind as well!!! Thank You!!! 🤗❤️😊

  3. Oooo I LOVE the designs! Such a cool frame too, very distinctive. I wouldn’t have thought these were photographs though, it looks like they’ve been done digitally. I’d never manage to capture these on my camera, there would just be blobs of darkness and shadows everywhere. I think you’ve done an amazing job, with the pieces and the photos! I’ll be interested to see your ‘making of’ video, Katy!! xx

    1. Aw!!! Thank You, Caz! I DID get some shots that were just blobs of darkness! 😅 And You’re right….I DID take the background out digitally! I kept photographing it inside and outside in various places but the backgrounds were all very busy and we don’t have a huge, paneless window to hang it in….so the very design of the window was changing the art when the sun shone through. So funny! I have a TINY studio I made in my art room….so shot in in front of my white backdrop with lights shining through….and then very poorly got the background out as best as I could. I’ll never look at a photo of something like this again without taking my hat off to the photographer! 🤣🤣🤣 And Thanks! I’m almost finished with the little film…it does show it a bit better! Cheers and Huge Hugs, Caz!!! 🤗❤️😊
