the numbers

wave by/© Blissbait Artthe numbers

nowadays, to my ears, the news casters sounds like adults in Charlie Brown’s world:

wah wah wah, wah wah, wah wah wah

my brain jumps off the couch and although i see their mouths moving

my heart aches deeply and hums fragmented songs with its fingers in my ears

there is a vast realm of my psyche that can only wait

just breathe, send out love and wait

but the numbers………they speak loud and clear

and register on every level

Sending out prayers and Love to All of You who are in the thick of this. I am so sorry for all You are going through and all of Your losses….there simply aren’t adequate words. Please know You are held in the world’s heart and so much Love surrounds You even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

the 9:45 (of forgotten leprechauns) 😅

the 9:45

hanging in hanging on

every season flashing like wild running thoughts like thundering horses

through minds held in a soggy paper cup

ocean hands float the pieces

away away away

OH!!! And Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Everyone!!! Cheers!

Perhaps I should have ended my poem:

away away away

o’er Emerald Seas Divine

and dissolve me fast

onto fields of wild clover with a fresh pint of Guiness by my side!!!

Now I can properly say CHEERS!!!

Brief update for all You Exceedingly Dear Ones who have been praying for/sending Love to our sweet sister, Mary:

She’s landed. The people who run this facility seem lovely. We’ve spoken very frankly and extensively about her meds and all that happened. They assure me our wishes and the doctor’s letter saying she needs her meds will be honoured. The place is clean and sweet. The residents seem truly peaceful and happy as one can be in that situation. The staff warmly welcomed us and Mary. One of the nurses raises goats and brings babies with her now and again. I got to pet a tiny one. Amazing! So. Saying prayers, practicing trust and letting go. It has to be done.

I’m still searching for my place in Mental Health advocacy about the atrocities we’ve experienced/learned these past few weeks. When I get plugged in and have a plan I’ll give a shout out to those who wanted to help write letters, etc. Thank You!!!

“Curiouser and curiouser!”

"curiouser and curiouser"

yeses become noes become maybes become hang ons

the rain keeps beat to a song i’ve never heard

which is odd because i’m a walking juke box

the frogs and crickets seem to know the tune

as does my breath

and all these

The title is from a line by Lewis Carrol. Couldn’t find whether it’s in ‘Alices Adventures in Wonderland’ or ‘Through the Looking Glass’ and I can’t remember! But the entire brilliant quote is:

“Curiouser and curiouser!” Cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English).”

"follow follow follow follow"

mine twists turns hides reveals

challenges nourishes taunts

gifts puzzles outrageous beauty strangeness and much love

skips rolls hides seeks

disappears altogether then wraps itself around my heart

laughs sings dances and drags its feet

utterly confuses me then grounds me sweetly

the only thing i think i’m certain of

is that

i’m definitely

“off to see the wizard!”

I’m going through a phase where songs play through my head over and over and over on some of the pieces I’m playing around with. ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road’ (by Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg) from the ‘The Wizard of Oz’ took center stage in my brain while i was painting this one. Hence, the title!

crumblin’ down

crumblin' down

i can be really good at building walls

perhaps we all are

i figured/hoped/prayed that with age i’d stop trying

sometimes, still, up they rise

but the super fantastic thing is that

nowadays i seem to forget to truly fortify

and when sweet Love shows up ready to blast them down

which is what always eventually happens anyway

instead of fighting the process and creating useless drama

i stand in the rubble with much gratitude

and offer Love a glass of wine and a hug
